United Airlines resumes flights between New York and Nuuk

The route between Nuuk and New York is not only about transportation – it is also about creating opportunities to experience and better understand
two very different parts of the world. 

For travelers from Greenland, the route opens the door to an international city with a wide range of cultural experiences. For visitors from the United States, it offers the opportunity to experience Greenland up close – and gain insight into a way of life that is often different from what is portrayed in the media. 

The direct connection makes travel easier in both directions and supports curiosity, understanding, and meaningful encounters between people. 

United Airlines shares: 

“United is excited to be returning for a second summer season to Greenland with our flights between Newark/New York and Nuuk! We will offer twice weekly flights on our Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft with 16 premium economy seats and 150 economy seats.” 

Via New York (Newark), travelers will have access to a wide range of onward destinations across both North and South America. 

United Airlines states: 

“With the EWR-GOH schedule planned for this summer, customers can connect to over 80 destinations across the Americas via our Newark/New York hub.” 

At the same time, last year’s experience showed steady interest in the route. 

United Airlines adds: 

“In the inaugural season last summer, we saw over 140 unique itineraries (O&Ds) take advantage of our EWRGOH flight. We carried over 6,200 passengers last year.”
