Following the peak season, Greenland Airports, Danish Civil Aviation and railway Authority have jointly evaluated the conditions introduced by the Transport Authority for air traffic to and from Nuuk Airport.
There have been some challenges with the conditions in relation to the complexity of managing the flight schedule. This has led to a number of adjustments, meaning that airlines will now face new requirements for planning and separation of air traffic.
For some passengers, this will result in minor changes to their travel plans, while others may experience more significant adjustments.
This also means that, in clear weather, flights can land more efficiently without waiting unnecessarily for permission to do so.
We apologise for any inconvenience the changes may cause and are working closely with, among others, Air Greenland to ensure that the transition to the new conditions is as smooth as possible.

Security is open, and all passengers – both domestic and international – are moving safely and securely on with their journeys.
At present, security screening for international passengers takes place during specially scheduled time windows, opening three hours before each departure. This is because the screening requires staff with special training – and unfortunately, in the current situation, we don’t have enough trained personnel to keep it open at all times.
As a result, there may be short closures in between flights. If you arrive during one of these periods, there may be a short wait – but all international passengers will be screened in good time for their flights.
Domestic passengers are not affected and can proceed directly to security as usual.
We appreciate your understanding and a little patience if you do experience a short wait. Our team is working hard to ensure you have a safe and pleasant journey.
Have a great trip
