11. September 2025
At an extraordinary general meeting, the composition of Greenland Airports’ new board of directors was announced.
Jens Wittrup-Willumsen has been appointed as the new chairman of the board. He thereby succeeds Kjeld Zacho Jørgensen.
The new chairman brings many years of management experience from the aviation and travel industries, including as Deputy CEO of SAS and former chairman of the board of Air Greenland.
“I am both proud and grateful for the trust the owner has shown me. Greenland Airports plays a central role in the country’s infrastructure, and I look forward to contributing to further development. There is great potential – both for society and for business.”
In the short term, the board and management are very focused on efficient and well-functioning security and airport operations in Nuuk. At the same time, we must ensure a good and smooth commissioning of the new airports in Qaqortoq and Ilulissat. “These are tasks I – together with the new board and the many skilled employees in the group – look forward to taking on further,” says Jens Wittrup-Willumsen.
The new board furthermore consists of:Anni Thøgersen, who has many years of experience from, among other things, Copenhagen Airport with a particular focus on commercial development.
Anette Grønkjær Lings, who has extensive knowledge of Greenlandic business and tourism development, among other things from her time on the board of Visit Greenland.
Kristoffer Plenge-Brandt, Chief Operating Officer at Copenhagen Airport with over 17 years of experience and insight into airport operations.
Outgoing chairman of the board Kjeld Zacho states:
“It has been an honor to lead Greenland Airports and one of the most important infrastructure projects in Greenland’s history.
The significance for the Greenlandic population, growth, and economy can hardly be overstated. The merger of Mittarfeqarfiit and Kalaallit Airports into Greenland Airports has also been an extensive task that has required courage and major decisions.
I would like to thank the outgoing board, the management, and not least the employees, who work hard every day for the company, for their dedicated efforts and fantastic cooperation.”
